Obiettivi dell'attivitą di ricerca

Il gruppo studia i sistemi neurali coinvolti nella percezione e modulazione del dolore, in funzioni cognitive, e nella programmazione del movimento volontario, sia in soggetti sani sia in pazienti; inoltre, si occupa dello sviluppo di tecniche di acquisizione ed analisi di neuro-immagini funzionali a livello spinale e cerebrale. Le tecniche di indagine sono basate sulla risonanza magnetica, in particolare BOLD-fMRI per la mappatura funzionale, trattografia basata su immagini di diffusione, e valutazione quantitativa di volume, spessore e superficie corticale.
